FrontDoor Communities Partners with CHRIS 180
FrontDoor Communities is proud to announce its partnership with CHRIS 180, a non-profit committed to healing children, strengthening families and developing community through mental health counseling, training, housing and real-world skill building.
Recently, the builder helped CHRIS 180 negotiate purchases of properties to add to the organization’s home portfolio in order to provide more safe housing for kids, teens and young adults in transition. FrontDoor Communities assisted with the sales contracts, site inspections and closings. Ultimately, the builder will also help in the funding and labor for renovations where it can.
Additionally, during the first week of December, FrontDoor Communities traveled to one of the existing group homes and cleaned up the yard, stained the deck and laid carpet in the recreation room. The builder provided the labor and all materials.
FrontDoor Communities is now collecting laundry detergent, a great need for the kids and families but an expensive budget item, and is off to an amazing start thanks to its supportive team members.
“CHRIS 180 and FrontDoor Communities share a commitment to our local community. Working with the organization will allow us to give back to those that need a new, more positive direction in life,” said Terry Russell, the CEO of FrontDoor Communities. “We look forward to serving with them more in 2017.”
CHRIS 180, formerly CHRIS Kids, helps children, young adults and families by providing mental health counseling at its CHRIS Counseling Center; group homes for abused and neglected children in foster care; in home programs that strengthen families; adoption services; a community clubhouse for 15 to 21 year olds; and a supportive housing program for single and parenting youth, ages 17 to 24, who are homeless or have aged out of the foster care system.
